flight delay claims
We all know delays happen whether they are in your car, on the train, stuck on a bus or a flight delay. However, not all of these modes of transport pay compensation for up to €600 under European law EC261/2004.
Flight Delay Claims Under EC261
If your flight was delayed flying out from a European airport under the EU regulations you are entitled to up to €600 in compensation. The amount of flight delay compensation depends on the distance travelled and not the length of the flight delay.
The law states that you can file a claim for flight delay compensation if:
1. You arrive at your destination more than 3 hours past the scheduled arrival time
2. The flight was within the last 6 years
3. The airline was at fault due to a late incoming flight, staffing issue, poor maintenance
4. The flight departed from ANY EU airport regardless of the airline - EU airlines are also liable if they were flying into the EU from any destination worldwide.
